DEDICATED TO COMMUNITY
Kate Dexter is eager to contribute her professional knowledge and community perspective to public service as a member of the Port Angeles City Council.
Her master’s degree in public administration gives Kate an in-depth understanding of public policy and how municipal government works.
From her experience working in rural community development, Kate understands the unique challenges Port Angeles families face in accessing health care and safety net services.
As the former PTO president at Franklin Elementary, Kate knows how to find solutions that stretch limited resources for maximum benefit. She has worked closely with diverse families and recognizes their range of needs. Kate will bring this knowledge to the table as she advocates for essential city services.
Kate will advocate for a thriving local economy that supports improved public infrastructure, vibrant neighborhoods that feature safe walking and biking, and a healthy community core. As the mother of two children in elementary school, Kate will advocate for the standards that our families and neighborhoods deserve.
Kate shares your concerns surrounding issues shaping the future of Port Angeles:
- Public safety
- Affordable housing
- Community revitalization
- Improving quality of life for all residents, from our youngest to oldest
As housing and utility costs continue to rise, Kate believes the city needs to find ways to increase access to affordable housing, living wage jobs, and support for local entrepreneurs. She will strive to enact city policies that create better outcomes for working families.
Kate will seek partnerships that encourage economic and social investment in Port Angeles, including our historic downtown. Kate supports the city’s commitment to infrastructure improvements, including street and alley repairs, harbor cleanup, and waterfront beautification.
